When is this happening?
Trick-or-Treat on Darling Street is taking place on Halloween, 31st October, 2014 from 5.30-6.30 pm
Where can we trick-or-treat?
About 90 businesses on (and close to) Darling Street between Shady Designs and The Pack & Send will be handing out lollies on Halloween from 5.30-6.30 pm. If the business has an orange balloon out front, they’re participating.
What is Trick-or-Treating?
It’s a customary practice for children on Halloween in many countries. Children in costumes travel from house to house (or business to business in Rozelle!) in order to ask for treats such as lollies with the phrase “Trick or treat!”
Why are we Trick-or-Treating in Rozelle?
Rozelle is becoming known for it’s Halloween tradition of Trick-or-Treating up and down many of our streets. So it only seemed natural to include our beloved businesses in the fun. Trick-or-Treat on Darling Street is a new event created to show support to the Rozelle businesses by inviting locals and those from surrounding suburbs to visit Darling Street on Halloween. This is a fun, free community event where the businesses will hand out lollies to trick-or-treating children on Halloween night.
Does this cost me anything?
No! Our generous sponsor, Peter Gordon from Cobden & Hayson has offered to buy all of the lollies for the businesses to hand out. So this event is free for both trick-or-treaters and businesses.
What if it rains?
We’ll be trick-or-treating rain or shine!
Will there be food options?
Yes, most businesses will be open for trading and all restaurants will be open. Please stay for dinner or pick up take-away!
Do I need to bring a bag to collect lollies in?
Yes! Don’t forget your lollie bag!
Where do I park?
We encourage you to walk or catch public transport as parking will be limited.
Will the streets be closed to traffic?
No. All traffic will be normal for a Friday at 5.30-6.30 pm so we urge that parents must accompany children and pedestrian crossings must be used.
